Welcome to the virtual home of the Bungarribee 4WD Club

Bungarribee 4WD Club Inc. - founded in September 1984

While the festivities are over for the first 20 years - the Club is well placed and growing for another successful 20 years

If you would like to find out more about our club,
Contact Anthony on 0418 972 919 or email us
bungarribee@hotmail.com

Our club originated in 1984, from a close group of Volunteer Bush Firefighters who all had a passion for driving their 4WDs.  All of the original members were from the Doonside Bush Fire Brigade, which unfortunately, has been outlived by our 4WD Club.  But the close friendship and healthy love of all things Bush has kept this 4WD Club alive over the years.

A bit of information about our 4WD Club

Having been formed by responsible community citizens (none more responsible than our firies!), our Club prides itself on it's committment to the environment and the Australian community.  The Bungarribee 4WD Club is an affiliated member of the AN4WDC and the NSW & ACT 4WD Association, which stand for responsible 4WDing and follows a Code of Ethics.

We host 4wd trips, basic camping trips, social events, we even attend 4wd clubs Jamboree, and some other 4wd competitions, and we cap off our great year by having a top notch Christmas party with members and visitors welcome.  In our local area, we host a Disadvantaged Kids Day, attend Menai Clean up days, and have donated our efforts to raise approx. $5,000 annually for the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Day.

Our club members can be Toyota owners, Nissan owners, Mitsubishi - all are welcome. Any 4WD owners who are responsible with their vehicles will find themselves at home in our Club.  You'll find that there are a few who are die-hards and are prone to ribbing others about what kind of 4WD they choose to drive, but it is only in fun and you'll find you're welcome to give some right back!

Our members come in all ages - from the very young to the mature 4WDer.  If you have a lack of experience driving, that won't concern us.  We'll be happy to lend advice and a hand while taking you with us to learn. From the beginner on their own, to the most experienced with years of driving, your welcome to be part of our Club.

We invite you to attend our meetings as a visitor and get to know us before thinking about joining our Club.  We do require new applicants for membership to attend two trips, at least one of them  an overnight excursion, before deciding to join our club.  We want you to feel that this is the right Club choice for your needs before expenses are outlaid.

We host our meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month, excluding December.
8pm at St Johns's Ambulance Hall, Myrtle Street, Prospect NSW.

Meetings last around an hour to an hour and a half, with tea/coffee and biscuits served after the meeting.  If you decide to attend, and your a first time visitor, please come early and have a bit of a chat with everyone so you feel right at home while your there.

With 20+ years of history behind the Club, there is so much more that could be said here, but I don't want to lose your interest!  So please, feel free to navigate around the website and take your time.  Drop us a line if you're interested in finding out more.  Now...let's hit the dirt!!

Trip Leader Brian - Trip attended by 7 vehicles and 16 people

Thank you Brian for the effort you put into your trip. Your organization and the camp site were excellent, and I would also like to thank the members for their efforts as to cover that took place in making it a trip to remember. I've made a list to show how our trip went.

Brian picked a very beautiful site, lots of brd life, the children enjoyed feeding the birds and planty of area to play. There was a crystal clear river running next to the site and at night it sounded jsut great to put you to sleep. Elisa you exceeded your cooking with damper, just magnificent, hope we get another when next we go camping and full marks to your children, lovely manners.  cont'd ...

Putt Putt - 17th September 2005

Attended by: - Warrick, Les & Olga, Ian, Lis & Bryce, Lou & Claire & family, Karen & Paul & family and Lyn & Anthony & family.

We all arrived at West Ryde Putt Putt around 7pm, the rain had held off for us to play. We started playing our 2 games at around 730pm and we were all in groups of 4 people (I think 1 group had 5). We had lots of fun and when we had finished playing our games we sat down and had a chat. Just after we sat down it started raining, so we couldn’t have timed it better.

Thank you to all who made it, we had a great night out.

Anthony & Lyn

Cabbage Tree Day Drive – Trip Report

3 July 2005

We left Macca’s at about 930am and headed up to the start of the track and aired down. Warrick left his 4wd at the top and we headed down the track, to the hairpin, we all got down ok. Peter left his vehicle at the hairpin. We also dropped Wayne off there with a chair and lunch, as he was recovering from a knee operation and couldn’t handle the rough stuff. Off we went down the obstacles, off the rock step, down the next bit then we turned around and headed back up.
